ACF Central Regional Conference in St. Louis
The Greater Kansas City Chefs Association was awarded a Chapter Achievement Award on 3/18/14. During the General Session Chef Jess Barbosa was Awarded a Presidential Medallion from ACF President Tom Macrina.

American Academy of Chefs (AAC)

Chef Paul Santaularia will be inducted into the American Academy of Chefs (AAC) at the Academy Dinner that
will be taking place during our National Convention this July 2014.
Pastry of the Year Competition

Pastry Chef Doug Flick Professor at Johnson County Community College (JCCC) has been selected to represent the Greater Kansas City Chefs Association at the regional conference in St. Louis, MO this March in the Pastry Chef of the Year Competition.

National Chapter of the Year Award

ACF Greater Kansas City Chefs Association was one of four regional Chapter of the Year award winners. The chapter was recognized for its exemplary performance in the community and to the culinary industry over the past year. The chapter has maintained or increased a strong membership; held a culinary competition, certification practical test or other ACF-approved event in the last 12 months; nominated an outstanding and dedicated member for a 2010 award; contributed to the community by participating in a fundraising function; and positively represented the chapter and ACF in the community and culinary industry.

2012 Competitions

Dear Chefs,

You are invited to participate in the Culinary Competitions at the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association’s Show sponsored by the American Culinary Federation (ACF)/Central Florida Chapter (CFC). This event will take place September 22, 23 and 24, 2012 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

Please mark your calendar for the entry deadline pursuant to all of the competitions listed below.

August 20, 2012 – Deadline:• R.L. Schreiber’s American Culinary Federation, Apprentice Junior Member Florida State Championship Team Skills Competition• Florida Pastry Challenge Sponsored by The Culinary Source, Callebaut and Cacao Barry

Registration must be postmarked no later than August 20th. There will be no exceptions.

2010 ACF Central Regional Competition and Awards

Congratulations to JCCC, Students and Professional members that participated in the competitions offered at the ACF Central Region Conference.

The ACF- Greater Kansas Chefs Association was very well represented on the various award ceremony stages.

First of all, as a chapter, we were awarded the “Chapter Acheivement Award” and the “Outstanding Chapter of the Year” for all of the Central Region.

Lindy Robinson, Dean-JCCC earned the “Cutting Edge” award.

The JCCC Knowledge Bowl team earned a Bronze Medal.

Jennifer Kelm, JCCC, Lake Quivira won the “Make-it-mini Dessert Trio” competition.

Sheena Maisch, JCCC, MIssion HIlls CC, participated in the Student Chef of Year Contest.

JCCC – Culinary Team earned a high Silver Medal and placed fourth in the Student Team Competition.

Paul Santaularia, Northland Career Center, Chapter President was awarded a President’s Medallion by ACF President Michael Ty and was a candidate in the Chef Educator of Year category.

Nguyet Nguyen took first place in the Pastry Chef of the Year competition.
