Join Us in August for Potluck with a Purpose August 19! Hosted by Board Secretary, Chef Diane Mora, Kids Feeding Kids an initiative of Pete’s Garden.
Meeting details: Entry options: $10 at the door OR waived for anyone contributing a potluck dish* (see details)
*Potluck with a purpose: Bring a salad, main dish, vegetable, starch, or protein to share. (Can be served hot or cold.) Consider preparing an extra disposable foil pan of your dish for donation. Surplus portions will be packaged by Pete’s Garden & delivered to families of Operation Breakthrough or YMCA Head Start.
Friendly Competition: Anonymous voting by ticket count in the following categories: Family Favorite, Classic Comfort, Best Flavor, Kid Friendly, Meatless Marvel, and People’s Choice.
Education & Tours: Joe Nicole (Program Manager, Pete’s Garden) will offer tours and share how Pete’s Garden rescues surplus, prepared food daily, then packages and distributes it as no-cost meals to families locally.
Chef Diane Mora (Program & Education Director, Kids Feeding Kids) will discuss Food Donor Protection Laws, and highlight how Kids Feeding Kids works to reduce food waste and disrupt food insecurity through partnerships with high school culinary and foods classes nationwide.
